Elyan has lived in a place since he was a few days old. The place is called House. The man whom he knew as his mentor dies just as the story begins. His new mentor Simeon, who is a young man, does things differently, but Simeon's approaches help Elyan to leave his comfort zone, which is a good thing because Elyan has to make a very serious decision soon. The story is about what matters most in life if we are not distracted with what surrounds us.

Elyan has a sense of humor which I like because he seems shy at times. I can be shy, so I could relate to him. It is so important who surround us as we are growing up. They influence us. Elyan was surrounded by the right people. People in the House are all orphans and they are taught to care for others, but people from outside can judge them because they don't understand their way of life. I love the story.
