Reviews

There are lots of interesting characters in the story, and it is interesting how one thing leads to another and their lives change. Mr. Mattis and Lord Shervid used to be friends, but now they don’t talk to each other. Their children, however, are the best of friends. In fact, Mr. Mattis’ son Calan and Lord Shervid’s daughter Sara are in love. Mr. Mattis is wealthy, but he is not of nobility, so he always thinks people mock him. Then we have Alex and his father. Alex’s father doesn’t like his son and wishes he was dead instead of his first-born son William. Then we have Iver who doesn’t like to talk or think about sad things in life, but his father Lord Shervid is sick, so he thinks about sad things. Then someone dies and the sheriff has to find out what happened.

I had no idea what the sheriff was going to find out, so the Friend’s Tale was one of the best detective stories I have read. This one and the Disappearing Island are the best mystery stories I’ve read.

Aunt Gretchen is the best.
